Who am I?

I'm Joel Griffiths — a commercial and adventure editorial photographer based in the UK, working with outdoor brands and publications who need imagery that feels like it was earned, not arranged.

Photography is only half of what I bring to a shoot. Currently, I am working through my Mountain Training England awards having completed my Mountain Leader and Rock Climbing instructor training. This means I have the experience to operate safely and independently in the environments that most photographers simply can't access. Exposed ridge lines, technical rock faces, multi-day mountain approaches — these aren't logistical challenges for me. They're my natural working environment.

I now lead content for Lode Outdoors and have contributed to Cyclist Magazine — and I'm building a body of work that sits at the intersection of cinematic storytelling and outdoor industry commercial photography.

I'm not interested in manufacturing adventure: I believe the best outdoor imagery comes from being genuinely present in wild places — patient enough to wait for the right light, experienced enough to reach the right location, and instinctive enough to recognise the frame when it appears.

If you're planning a campaign, an expedition shoot, or an editorial project that demands a photographer who'll go the distance — I'd like to hear about it.
